Jess Van Ness

President, CEO, & Founder

Jess began his life in Information Technology in 1993 after serving his country in the United States Air Force. Jess quickly rose through the ranks and was fortunate to ride the technology wave working for companies such as IBM, NetApp, Inacom, & 20th Century Fox. Jess had a passion to build a technology focused organization and founded MetroSys in 2006, and the rest is history!

Jess began the early days of his career transforming enterprise environments to Microsoft technologies, which was the perfect precursor to data storage migrations. As an elite Professional Services Consultant, Jess built a stellar reputation with NetApp and was selected to join several prestigious teams to include NetApp Tech Senate, Cluster-Mode Expert Team (CMET), cDOT 30, and the Transition Team. As such, Jess has had a tremendous opportunity to help solve some of the most challenging issues for at scale.

In founding MetroSys, Jess had a vision to blend aspects of companies he admired which included creating a market disruptor like Virgin, produce a team culture like NetApp, and a people company like Zappos. He believes in principals over profit and our culture is the biggest X factor.

On a personal level, Jess is a humanist and an animal advocate. He is an avid world traveler, a modest foodie, and an underground electronic music artist.

Ryan Benigno

COO & Co-Founder

With over 20 years of Information Technology industry experience, Ryan has spent the vast majority in Professional Services, Sales and Consulting. Ryan has built a stellar reputation and is seen as an industry expert based on his expertise leading highly-technical, large, multi-national projects.

Ryan co-founded MetroSys and has contributed to the success of building a multi-million dollar services company by establishing and managing customer relationships, developed operational processes and procedures for the overall business as well as provided consulting expertise for MetroSys customers. During his tenure at MetroSys, he has provided leadership in cultivating the teams’ technical abilities by providing training paths and knowledge sharing while building strong team synergy. Ryan as also been acting C.F.O. and has establish a corporate accounting systems to manage the overall financial health of the organization.

Ryan is no stranger to Professional Services. Over his 20 year career he has architected and implemented enterprise solutions including datacenter transformations, data migrations, infrastructure design, programming and automation. Ryan has, as a vendor, delivered large scale projects while employed with companies such as NetApp, Trace3, TIG, and Online Connecting Point. Ryan has also work for nine years as the customer for one of LA’s premier law firm Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, managing infrastructure as well as building out their environment to provide a state-of-the-art datacenter.

Ryan’s future goals include continued expansion for MetroSys into new and emerging technologies to include Cloud solutions as well as maturing the overall infrastructure for for the company. He is also is focused on maintaining and preservation of MetroSys company culture and has aspirations of the company being listed on the Great Place to Work list.

Brandon Faulkenham

Director of Talent Acquisition

In a world of one size fits all, Brandon Faulkenham’s approach to IT staffing is a tailormade, personalized approach. Focusing on building relationships with candidates and clients alike helping to ensure the best professional fit possible. Not only is he an award winning sales leader but he has an in-depth knowledge of today’s leading edge technologies allowing him to better understand the demands of the staffing markets.

With a decade of experience in technology and staffing, Brandon is a leader in his industry. He has a diverse background including help desk SME, sales, staffing and leadership. Training new employees, writing training manuals, along with maximizing and innovating the technologies within various company platforms are some of his skills. Over the years, he has built up a substantial network of the nation’s best technology professionals.

He has worked for clients such as Honeywell, Sprint, Dell, Robert Half Technology, Frank Recruitment Group and helped launch a Technology Staffing startup as the company’s recruiting expert. While at Robert Half Technology, he was a top producer in the country, winning multiple awards including the Million Dollar Club. Because he has worked for a wide range of both Fortune 500 companies and startups alike, his experience gives him a unique perspective to staffing.

He’s excited to help MetroSys grow their Flexible Work Force. He seeks to utilize the best technology possible in order to streamline the staffing process while expanding their client list and candidate database.
